Raise your Hand if you Like VeggieTales!

Toys & Gifts with a Message

If you're like me, then you're careful about every little thing your children see and hear. I used to get criticized for being over protective of my daughter by not allowing her to listen to secular music or watch much secular tv, unless it was educational. Well, as the years progressed the fruit of this lifestyle has shown itself strong! And oh yes, the fruit is plentiful and delicious She has spent the past five years watching Veggie Tales and reading books with Christian themes. As my husband and I begin integrating more secular literature and programming into her life (because let's face it, she can't live in a bubble for the rest of her life..she is going to see "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" at some point!) we've noticed that those Christian values and themes are overshadowing any "worldly" concepts she may see or hear. I'm so thankful she is grounded in Christian values and I really give a lot of credit to the folks at Big Idea and other Christian companies. They make it easy for parents like me!

So, this Christmas, I've compiled a list of Veggie Tales books, toys, games, and media that you may want to consider for those special kids on your list...because as Bob and Larry say..."God made you special, and He loves you very much. Good Bye!" Happy Shopping! Post your purchases on here if you can! I would love to see what you bought. The prices are some of the lowest I've ever seen anywhere online especially if you don't mind gently used media.

Changes...

Yes, PPL has discontinued all of our children's jewelry. New legislation has made it too difficult to continue selling safe items for kids, so that part of the Loft is being put on hold.

Just a quick note to say thank you to everyone who has supported The Punkin Pie Loft's children's line over the past two years. I cannot express in words how thankful I am for each customer, and how your purchase has not only allowed PPL to continue to thrive, but has encouraged me to continue pursuing my craft and dream. God Bless each of you for the seed you've sown into my vision. I will continue to provide high quality and unique pieces for women 13+ and maybe one day will be able to re establish the children's line. Hang in there with me

Be Blessed,

~Angell

Preschool Bible Time Week 3

I missed a week of posting, but I didn't have much to post because we studied the story of "Shadrach, Meshach, & Abednego" and Many of the lessons came from a bible workbook we picked up at the discount store.

So last week, for Valentine's Day, we worked on "Loving Your Enemy".

We read this story:

My daughter is too young for these, but here's a worksheet you may want to include:
http://sewhttkr.home.comcast.net/~sewhttkr/bibleWS/bibleWS/56_love.htm

We didn't do this either, but I think this is another great lesson on love:

We DID do some Heart memory cards (free printables)and played a game together:

I also asked my daughter to cut out pictures from some magazines that she thought showed what love is...it was the best activity we've done so far!! I was amazed by how much she knew about love (in it's REAL meaning and not the romantic feelings sometimes attached to it). After she cut them out she pasted them onto a piece of construction paper and then explained to me what each photo meant. I wrote her explanations on the paper:

We had some very deep discussions about loving your enemies and this week's lesson really stretched me and caused me to re-evaluate how well I've been "loving my enemies". It was a great lesson for both of us!

PreSchool Bible Time Week 2

Okay here's another week's worth of Bible activities...
Our theme for week 2 is Fishermen to Fisher's of Men!

We started with an age appropriate story which happened to be in my daughter's Bible story book. But you can find one here too...

Then we did several related crafts to drive the story home!

Paper clip/paper fish craft:
http://www.kidssundayschool.com/Gradeschool/Games/1game13.php

We added a special touch to this one by adding names to each individual fish. The names were of people who we weren't sure knew Christ. We were literally "fishing for men" My 4 y/o actually wanted to write the name of a stranger that we encountered at a store months ago...it was amazing!

Then we decorated a print out fish with foil, markers, and strips of crepe paper:

Here's the link to the print out: http://www.dltk-bible.com/animals/fish.htm

We also did a science related project by making the "ocean" in a jar:

We finished the lesson off by making fish out of clay:

Bible Truth's learned: Jesus helps his friends. It's important to tell other's about Jesus. Doing things Jesus' way brings victory!
